Parks & Recreation  

The CIty of Janesville has four different park and recreational areas located throughout town.  You will find there is something here for everyone from wide open spacious pet friendly play areas, to a softball diamond, playground equipment and more!

Barrick Road City Park
Location: 112 W. Barrick Road

Hours: 5:00am-10:00pm

Features: Play Ground Equipment, Softball Diamond, Benches/Picnic Tables, Shelter Houses including grills, Horse Shoe Pits, Cornhole Game, Tetherball, Basketball Court, Sand Volleyball Court, Walking Trail, and Boat Ramp. Also includes plenty of pet friendly room to run and a scenic view of the Cedar River and Pedestrian Bridge.

This Park Allows Pets. OWNERS REQUIRED TO CLEAN UP AFTER PETS.
Beason-Boomer Park
Location: 910 Main Street

Hours: 5:00am-10:00pm
​
Features: Swing Set, Shelter House, Benches/Picnic Tables, Scenic View
of Cedar River and plenty of pet friendly room to run and play!
​
This Park Allows Pets. OWNERS REQUIRED TO CLEAN UP AFTER PETS.

Paul's Park
Location: 601 Sycamore Street
​
Hours: 5:00am-10:00pm
​
Features: Playground Equipment, Benches/Picnic Tables and plenty of pet friendly room to run and play.

Road Side Park
Location: South of 610 Maple Street

Hours: 5:00am-10:00pm

Features: Plenty of pet friendly room to run and play!,

Shelter House Reservation Form
Unless reserved in advance, shelter houses are on a first come, first serve basis. To officially reserve a shelter house, Click the link below to download a Shelter House Reservation form.  You can also Call City Clerk's Office at (319)987-2905 to reserve a shelter. 
​
A $25.00 Deposit and a $25.00 Fee is required to reserve a shelter. Fees need to be be paid in two separate payments. The $25.00 Deposit will be refunded once shelter has been inspected after the event and deemed to be left in good condition.
 
Reservation of the shelter and water usage is included with your rental.

New Parking Lot Construction

Barrick Road Park

​

-Removed Old, Cracked Basketball Court.

- Added a NEW, 1 on 1 Basketball Court.

-Constructed a NEW Parking Lot on the South Side.

-Raised and Resurfaced walking trail to improve water runoff.

-Constructed a NEW Rock Basin to help with water run off.

-Added NEW Fencing along Volleyball and Basketball courts for game ball        control.

-Moved benches to more convenient locations.

-Re-did Lions Club Shelter House roof.

-Re Surfaced the Ball Diamond.

-Installed Walking trail from Ball diamond bleacher seating to park                   entrance for pedestrian safety.

-Installed NEW Corn Hole Game. (Donated by Kay Industries)

-Placed sand at the base of the swing set for safety.

Paul's Park

-Placed sand at the base of play ground equipment for safety.

-Replaced reflective end of road signs.

-Replaced warped picnic table.

Beason Boomer Park

-Removed Old playground equipment that was unsafe.

-Placed sand at the base of the swing set for safety.

Summer Rec

Youth Baseball & Softball Programs 

Summer Recreation 
This program is for children from pre-school through the 5th grade. Boys and girls must reach four (4) years of age by June 1st to be eligible to participate in this summer program. A variety of activities such as, tee ball, arts and crafts, and miscellaneous games, will be scheduled for each of the different age groups. The intent of this program is to have FUN and be active! Activities will normally be held at the Barrick Road Main City Park. During inclement weather, activities may be held in the Janesville Elementary School Gymnasium or an alternative location, as posted.
Summer Recreation Form
Youth Baseball/Softball Program
Janesville boys and girls who are currently in 2nd-6th grades are eligible to participate in the City of Janesville’s Youth Softball/Baseball Programs. The intent of this program is to have FUN and to learn the fundamentals of softball and baseball, while exhibiting good sportsmanship!
